Did you know that the Beverly Hillbillies didn’t live in Beverly Hills? They actually lived in Bel Air. At least that’s the home that was used as the Clampett’s residence in the television series. The Colby’s (circa 1985) used the exterior of a Bel Air Home. Bewitched was filmed in a Santa Monica home on 18th Street. It’s no secret that there is a nice selection of movie locations among West Los Angeles homes. Not only the mansions of Brentwood, Bel Air and other big ticket neighborhoods and cities in West Los Angeles, catch movie makers attention, but even more modest homes. Occasionally famous homes will go on the market, with prices into the millions. Whether your budget stretches to include these homes or not, you can live in their ambience by calling your West Los Angeles real estate agent. But be prepared. Unless your community is truly gated, you will get look-seers on tours of famous homes every day of the week. If you can only afford a quarter-million dollar 1 bedroom/1 bath Santa Monica condo, it won’t be hard to spot celebrities, the human kind or the bricks ones.
